This thread repair kit includes a Helicoil assembly, a lock washer and a crush sleeve. A Helicoil is an internal thread repair which provides an anchoring mechanism to repair damaged or stripped holes for hardened or soft steel fasteners. To begin the installation, drill out the existing threaded hole to obtain a complete new female thread or suitable sized counterbore for a flush seating of the Helicoil assembly. The Helicoil assembly consists of an inner helix (male), an outer helix (female) and an actual coil screw threaded portion in between.  The crushed sleeve is placed on the inside
