Helicoil R1185-6 3/8-16 Threaded Inserts General purpose, flat bottomed, Loose inserts for blind holes. A free running insert should be used to prevent possible seizing of the insert. Typically installed using a tool designed for the specific application. The main tap hole should _NOT_ be reamed prior to installation.

Aircraft nuts, with under head, 14-10 Series. Medium strength steel. Black Oxide coating.

The inserts are available in special hardening and tempering processes providing optimal performance for certain applications.
